ConocoPhillips has announced the appointments of several key executives to the Phillips 66 Management team. The appointments will be effective when the split between Conocophillips’ upstream and downstream businesses is complete in the second quarter of 2012, creating Phillips 66 as an independent downstream company.
Greg Maxwell (pictured) – currently Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Controller of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company – has been named as the Chief Financial Officer for the new company. Maxwell’s past experience includes several senior positions with Phillips Petroleum Company (now ConocoPhillips).
Tim Taylor will be head of the Commercial, Marketing, Transportation and Business Development divisions, following his recent retirement as Chief Operating Officer for Chevron Phillips Chemical. Meanwhile, Chantal Veevaete (currently Vice President of Human Resources for Chevron Phillips Chemical) will head Human Resources for the new company. Veevaete has previously worked as Vice President of Human Resources for Accredo.
Taylor is set to join ConocoPhillips in January 2012, with Maxwell and Vavaete joining in February. “I am confident that the management team we are building for Phillips 66 will provide the vision and strategic insight necessary to enable us to excel in our new peer group,” said incoming Chairman Greg Garland. “These individuals bring a wealth of industry experience, credibility and leadership skills to Phillips 66,” he added.
