New talks in the pay dispute between Shell tanker drivers and their
employers have raised hopes that they will be able to resolve the
current dispute.
Many petrol stations had to turn customers away at the weekend as the
four-day strike, which started on Friday began to affect service stations in many areas. It was reported that a total
of 647 servcie stations ran out of fuel by Monday, including 249 Shell garages,
but there are no reports of major problems.
Shell's network across the UK will start to be restocked
today as Unite union members return to work for the
rest of the week.
