UK: Karcher Acquisition of Atlantis International

Kärcher, the world’s leading manufacturer of cleaning equipment, has
strengthened its commitment to the UK vehicle wash market by acquiring
Atlantis International, the
Loughborough-based manufacturer and distributor of vehicle wash and water recycling solutions.
“Kärcher and Atlantis have many years experience working together in
this market”, said Kärcher UK Managing Director, Simon Keeping.
“Atlantis has been Kärcher’s exclusive distributor of car, bus and
truck wash since
1996. We have been impressed by the expertise and market knowledge that
Atlantis has in this area. Coupled with an excellent Service
proposition and a strong
complementary range of water recycling solutions, we are confident that
we are acquiring a strong foundation for further expansion into the
vehicle wash market.”
David Brain, the founder and owner of Atlantis added “This was
the obvious solution when I decided it was time for me to sell. I am
delighted that Kärcher took the
opportunity to acquire the business that I and my staff have built up
since 1989.” Peter Spencer, Managing Director of Atlantis, will
continue to lead the company under Kärcher’s new ownership.

sales of 6.25 million units, the highest ever
in the company’s history.
