OPET petrol retail has opened service station fully equipped with Stage
I and Stage II vapour recovery systems at Maslak, Istanbul.
OPET signed up specialized contractors, to utilize the latest
globally developed equipment and technolgy with the objective of
achieving the highest environmental standards.
The service station is situated on an area of 10.500 square meters with
15 fuel dispensers and 5 LPG dispensers. There are 170
hoses on all the fuelling islands enabling 50 vehicles to fuel at
the same time. The service station uses 8 double-walled
underground storage and double-walled piping has also been
incorporated to maximize safety against leaks.
Mepsan the local fuel dispenser manufacturer supplied pay-at-the-pump
functionality, designed by Mepsan, where a variety of credit and
loyalty cards are accepted. OPW incorporated a full vapour
recovery system both as Stage I and Stage II (tanker and vehicle) for
redirecting vapour back to its tanks. The vapour-recovery specific
nozzles have been used to restrict vapours from escaping to the
environment during the fuelling, loading and unloading process. The
tank automation solution was provided by Veeder-Root.
Construction of the “TSK Mehmetçik Foundation Maslak” service station
took 90 days and is understood to be one of the largest in Turkey.
