Rovnag Abdullayev, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), plans to visit Romania to open new fuel service stations in the country. Abdullayev, who yesterday signed an agreement for the sale and transportation of Azerbaijani gas through Turkey, is spearheading efforts to increase the company’s retail network in Romania and other territories.
"We are interested in the Romanian market for the sale of petrochemicals to be produced at our refinery in Izmir. But not only Romania is considered for these purposes. That is just one of the markets we are targeting," he said. SOCAR plans to open 300 fuel service stations in Romania, where it currently operates 15 outlets.
