Leading petrol piping maker KPS has reported on a hugely successful year, in which the firm released an unprecedented volume of new products. Solutions hitting the market included a conductive tank chamber and dispenser chamber in January, with both products now accompanied by additional dispenser chamber models and an underground fill box.
A new range of fill, ventilation and tank gauging solutions were also released, including the VR1 adapter with integrated flame arrester, P/V valves featuring integrated flame arresters, an anti-theft manual gauging solution and a biodiesel ventilation filter to prevent diesel bug growth. The company also brought two new transition fittings, new compact double wall fittings, entry seals and a newly-designed leak detection system to market.
The company added a new pipe production facility in Beijing, with staff trained by production experts from Sweden and pipes approved to EN 14125 by ERA Technology, to expand into the growing Chinese market. Production output capacity for double-wall sockets, fittings and formed bends at the Kungsör factory in Sweden KPS was also boosted, while the dispenser chamber product and award winning conductive tank chamber have enjoyed a breakout year of sales.
Overall, as sales volumes in growing markets such as China, Africa and South East Asia expanded, KPS managed to exceed its budgeted sales for the year. Based on these strong results, says CEO Lars Selling, 2012 will be just as positive for the firm: despite insecurities in European financial markets, Selling says the company is still firmly in growth mode. "We are going to focus on three things next year: Further improving the way our products are installed and the design of underground piping, making the market aware of our expanding chamber assortment - and continued product development of our secondary contained fittings," he explains. "We will also expand our factory in Sweden with more floor space and added capacity for pipe extrusion."
KPS will be attending the PetrolWorld APAC Business forum taking place in Goa between February 22 and 24. The event will see both oil industry leaders and solutions providers attending the Intercontinental Hotel and Golf Resort in Goa to network, share ideas and develop opportunities in an informal atmosphere.
