week sees the final registrations for the forthcoming PetrolWorld
business meeting forum in Goa. This will be the 15th PetrolWorld forum
which will be held in the Intercontinental Lalit Resort in Goa between
22nd and 24th February. This will be the only PetrolWorld Forum to be
held in Asia this year.

Oil importer Zhuhai Zhenrong has vehemently denied claims that it exports fuel to Iran, calling such claims "groundless". Speaking to reporters, a spokesman said the firm has “never exported even one tonne of fuel to Iran,” despite sanctions imposed by the U.S. State Department.

Leading resource optimisation consultancy ORTEC has signed a new deal with long-term client Shell to work together on a global scale. The companies, which have a business relationship dating back over 25 years, will work to improve supply chain processes and strategic decision making in both upstream and downstream engineering disciplines including planning and scheduling, gas field production capacity optimisation, spare parts management, and cost estimating.

ExxonMobil has announced plans to restructure its Japanese operations together with TonenGeneral Sekiyu to create a single, integrated downstream business. TonenGeneral Sekiyu has agreed to purchase ExxonMobil’s shares in ExxonMobil Yugen Kaisha, integrating ExxonMobil Yugen Kaisha’s marketing operations with its existing business, in a deal worth roughly $3.9bn.

Mexico’s state-run oil firm, Pemex, has said that it is making progress on an industrial accord with Repsol YPF following a long boardroom battle. The proposed agreement will see Pemex maintaining its stake in Repsol at between 5% and 10%, while the two sides will also seek opportunities to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects.

London-based Business Monitor International has forecast a fall in refined fuel prices between now and 2016, with the sharpest overall fall occurring between 2012 and 2014. North American consumers, the company says, will benefit less from this trend than those in other regions, while refiners are expected to struggle, particularly in Europe and the United States.
