National Petroleum News under the editorial team of Don Smith and Lisa DuShane back in the early ninties was the reason for my first business trip to Chicago. It was Friday 18th March 1994, the same evening that Michael Jordan (US basket ball player) returned to the Chicago Bulls! My hotel was close to the Michael Jordan restaurant which I innocently visited and became part of a historical sports night in Chicago!
That week-end David Egan & NPN agreed to kick start NPN International which was subsequently launched in 1996 at the UK Forecourt Show (Blenheim) in Europe. I chose NPN because of its commercial and historical importance in the North American market. Next year NPN will become the first publication in our industry to celebrate 100 years!
