Automechanika came to an end yesterday and you can view some of the launches and news on our World News pages.
Philips announced a number of compelling solutions for the automotive aftermarket at the Automechanika fair in Frankfurt, Germany. The range includes EcoVision, the world’s most energy-efficient car head lighting that will help meet the challenge of reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Rising fuel prices and protecting the environment are two big issues facing the automotive industry and consumers. In the automotive sector, CO2 emissions due to transport and motor vehicles represent more than 28 percent of the global CO2 emissions.
Philips EcoVision car head lighting has been designed to significantly reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, as well as costs, while improving the road lighting performance. The EcoVision headlamp consumes 20 percent less energy, lasts about 50,000 km, which is twice as long as a standard car headlamp, and provides 10 percent more light.
