Luxfer CNG Cylinders to be used for McNeilus Front Discharge Mixer CNG fuel system
xfer’s industry-leading G-Stor Go Type-4 cylinders and G-Flo valves has been selected by McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company for its S-Series Front Discharge Mixer compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel system. Truck ground clearance is maximized without compromising on wheelbase by the Twin Vertical CNG configuration.
Frame space for chute storage, tanks and other components are freed up by vertically installed tanks. An NGV1 fill port, defuel port, manual-shutoff valve and pressure sensor, ensuring safe and successful fueling are the features of the fuel management module.
10 percent additional volume combined with a 30 percent reduction in weight compared to previous conventional hybrid cylinders is provided by the system that features two Luxfer G-Stor Go Type 4 cylinders. An industry leader with more than 5,000 CNG vehicles on the road from coast to coast, McNeilus offers a variety of mounting options and fuel capacities to meet customer needs, with new configurations constantly in development. Through the company’s national network of certified installation centers, CNG systems are installed on heavy-duty vehicles.
Originally for firefighter life support and later for a variety of other applications, including alternative fuel (AF), Luxfer has been pioneering composite cylinder technology for more than 40 years. Source: NGV PWKD11042017
