Aloha Petroleum has been awarded a $7.5 million contract to supply fuel to the military in Hawaii.
The Honolulu-based company’s fixed-price contract, which runs
through the end of 2012, also includes economic price adjustments. The
fuel will be used by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and
federal civilian agencies. The contract was awarded by the Defense
Energy Support Center in Fort Belvoir, Va., through an online
solicitation that drew eight responses.
Staying with Aloha Petroleum, the company is helping the Hawaii
Government Employees Association "fuel" its scholarship program. Aloha
Petroleum recently presented HGEA with a check for $3,009 to support
the organization's Charles R. Kendall Scholarship and Education Fund.
HGEA established the Charles R. Kendall Scholarship and Education Fund
in 1966. In the last 44 years, more than 1,660 scholarships have been
awarded to HGEA members and their families.
