PKN Orlen has said that it is still interested in expanding within Estonia, but would prefer not to develop a retail network from scratch. Instead, the company has revealed, it would prefer to take over an alread-operating sales network.
When Orlen came to the Baltic states, we planned a petrol stations' chain covering the region. We have 35 petrol stations in Lithuania now, we are still looking in the direction of Latvia and Estonia," remarked Orlen Lietuva Director General Ireneusz Fafara during an interview. "From the point of view of business, Estonia's market is already full. It would be too hard an undertaking to start building something from scratch. The only solution would be buying an existing chain," he added.
The company first entered the Estonian market in 2008.
