| Friday, 26 October 2012 | |
The Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resources Minister has confirmed that Petronas will close its fuel service stations in the country after low sales over a long period forced it to re-think its operation.
Other international operators such as Total and Shell also do business in Indonesia and compete with state-run Pertamina. However Pertamina which is state controlled continues to use its national status to maintain control on teh downstream sector. Indonesian upstream sector is also under pressure and requires international investment on its natural resource.
