Attendance at this year's NACS Show in Las Vegas reached its second highest ever after visitors from a record 65 countries flocked to the trade show, one of the 50 largest held annually in the US. Total attendance for the event reached 24,056, the capacity of the Las Vegas Convention Centre according to fire service safety regulations, and just 309 shy of the record attendance in 2003.
Around 200 new companies chose to participate at the show, and a further 150 had to be placed on a waiting list. The total number of attendees was up by 7.2% on last year's show.
The total amount of buyers at the event rose by 17.1% to 24,056, including Petroleum Industry Institute registration, which came in at 1,707, its third-highest level ever. The show took place between October 7 - 10.
"Our record numbers affirm the value that the NACS Show delivers to our industry," said Pat Lewis, NACS Vice-Chairman of Convention."The NACS Show is an annual must-attend event for retailers who see attendance as an investment in their business. With our theme 'One idea can change your business,' ideas were everywhere, whether in sessions, networking, opportunities, or on the expo floor. As far as investment goes, could there be any better one for your business?"
