India: Bharat Petroleum to Scale Down Mumbai Production Temporarily |

Bharat Petroleum has announced that it will bring production at its Mumbai refining facility down to around half of normal capacity in March-April next year as it looks to improve yields in the long run. Capacity at the 240,000 barrel per day facility will be lowered to around 120,000bpd as a crude unit configured for fractional distillation powers down.
"There will be some improvement. We will be shutting one train," said BK Dutta, the head of refining at the facility.
Before the Mumbai shutdown, the company will temporarily cease production at a 90,000bpd facility at its Kochi refinery in November.
