Ghana: Goil Pays $701,000 Dividend to Govt |

Ghana’s state oil company Goil has announced that it has paid a dividend of $701,000 to the company’s largest shareholder, the Ghanian government.
“Goil feels delighted to present this dividend covering the 2011 financial year to the major shareholder, the Government of Ghana,” said Goil’s board Chairman, Prof. Willaim Asomaning as he prsented the cheque to the minister for finance and economic planning, Dr Kwabena Duffnor.
“We want to assure you that the company will continue to operate profitably to enable us to pay dividends to shareholders and honour other tax obligations to the government and the people of Ghana,” he added.
Duffnor said that all of Ghana’s state-owned enterprises should aspire to emulate the successes of Goil.
Also present at the handover were Patrick Akorli, Managing Director at Goil, and Stephen Gyabeng, the company’s Finance Manager.
