Cardiff City stars Joe Ledley, Michael Chopra and Mark Hudson were at
the Texaco Llantwit Main service station on Llantrisant Road, Cardiff
to celebrate the launch of Texaco’s fuel additive, Techron®.
Motorists using more than 25 Texaco service stations in and around
Cardiff are the first in the UK to benefit from Techron®, which will be
available in the supreme unleaded petrol and diesel
fuels. With Cardiff City riding high in the
Championship football league, a large crowd gathered to meet with their
favourite players, receiving autographs and free Texaco mini-footballs.
Free Techron® fuel vouchers were also up for grabs.
Welsh international Joe Ledley said: “The Texaco brand has been
supporting Cardiff City through its sponsorship of the Championship for
the last two seasons and when they contacted us to say that they were
choosing Cardiff for the UK launch of Techron®, we were glad to give
our support.”
The launch of Techron® follows hard on the heels of the launch of the
new Texaco service station image with Cardiff again chosen as the first
place in the UK to benefit from the new look, including improved
lighting and a colour change in canopy lettering from red to white.
Brian Worrall, UK Country Chairman for Chevron said: “Cardiff and
South Wales in general are a really important market for us and our
customers will know that whenever they see the ‘with Techron®’ logo at
Texaco stations, they know they will receive high quality fuel.”
Recognising that clean engines run more smoothly and are more
efficient, the Techron® fuel additive can increase your diesel engine’s
efficiency by helping to prevent deposit build-up on fuel injectors.
For petrol engines, it will help keep intake valves and other fuel
system components clean and minimise the build-up of harmful combustion
chamber deposits, which can lead to higher emissions and cause engine
knocking or loss of power during acceleration. Chevron, owner of
the Texaco brand, is also working on making Techron® available to
customers in other areas in due course.
The introduction of the Techron® and Techron® D fuels additives, as
well as the new Texaco image, are part of the company’s Shining Star
programme which aims to build on the strengths of Texaco’s 90 year
heritage in the UK and cement Texaco’s reputation as a premium brand.
The programme also includes investment in the company’s facilities, an
integrated marketing campaign to promote the brand as well as
enhancements to the support package offered to independent Texaco
retailers to help them to meet the needs of their local customers.
