Manor Service Stations, an independent petrol retailer based in the
north of England, has won the tender to run the two service stations
at Manchester Airport.
The two sites, at Terminals One and Two, shall be run for ten years
by Manor Service Stations, a Macclesfield-based business, and will
become two of the busiest sites in the company's portfolio. Manor
Service Stations won the contract after Manchester Airport Group
decided that a specialist petrol retailer would be able to operate the
stations with greater efficiency.
Both sites will continue to be supplied with fuel from BP and Manor
Service Stations intend to spend over £100,000 on refurbishments. The
main site at Terminal One will be converted into a BP Connect franchise.
Peter Brough, the Managing Director of Manor Service Stations,
comments, "This is a significant contract for Manor Service Stations
and we are delighted to have been recognised as one of the leading
operators in the country. We look forward to a successful relationship
with Manchester Airport and, ultimately, giving the highest quality
service to those customers visiting these sites."
There were a number of bidders for the contract to run the service
stations at Manchester Airport with submissions having to include an
equal opportunity policy, objectives for the sites, and the company's
environmental policy.
Joe Brough, a director of Manor Service Stations, comments, "Our depth
of experience was a key factor to winning the bid. We have a proven
record in the petrol retail industry and would put ourselves forward
again for similar contracts where businesses operating service stations
not as a core business need expert knowledge and ability to maximise
their efficiency." The two service stations started operating
under Manor Service Stations last month.
