Lukoil Vice President Vadim Vorobyov has said that the company does not foresee a fuel deficit in the domestic market. Speaking to reporters, Vorobyov said that a spike in kerosene consumption is anticipated as it is added into diesel fuel for winter, but that Lukoil has created winter diesel reserves to prepare for increased demand.
While Mr Vorobyov did not specify how much fuel the company had in reserve, Prime-Tass Business News Agency reported that Russia’s Energy Ministry had joined with oil majors to put winter diesel fuel reserves amounting to 529,800 tonnes in storage. According to Ministry projections, fuel demand in the country is expected to rise by 3.5% for gasoline, 4.3% for diesel fuel, and 3.2% for jet fuel until 2013.
