Russia: Sibir Energy First-Half Profits Double

Sibir Energy Plc, Russian billionaire Chalva Tchigirinski's oil
company, said profit more than doubled in the first half as output and
crude prices rose to records.
Net income advanced to $233.7 million from $87.8 million, or 27.72 cents a year earlier, Sibir said today in a statement distributed by the Regulatory News Service. Sales tripled to $1.9 billion. Output increased 44 percent to 67,900 barrels a day.
