Rompetrol Group has secured a multi-currency loan agreement from RBS worth a total of €55m. The one-year loan offers working capital for its two member companies, Rompetrol Downstream and Rompetrol Gas.
Rompetrol Downstream is the group’s retail division in Romania, operating 763 fuel service stations nationwide. Rompetrol Gas, the LPG arm, has 250 stations for automotive LPG, 7,000 gas cylinder distribution points, and 3 LPG bottling plants.
Owned by KazMunaiGaz, Rompetrol operates in 12 countries. The Group Financial Manager, Dmitry Grigoryev, said the company has ambitious plans with the new capital injection. “This year, the group aims to complete the program to increase the Petromidia refinery’s capacity to 5m tonnes of raw material, to strengthen the fuel distribution in Romania, France, Spain, Bulgaria, Moldova and Georgia, and to expand into Turkey and the Ukraine, ” he remarked.
