Romania: Gilbarco Veeder-Root Agree Supply Agreement With Socar

Gilbarco Veeder-Root has announced a three year partnership with SOCAR in Romania as the sole supplier of fuel dispensers, automatic tank gauging and point of sale equipment for the SOCAR fuel service station network. 

SOCAR who have initiated a major expansion programme in Romania, plan to increase their fuel service station network to 300 over the next three years. Gilbarco Veeder-Root's experience in the Romanian market ensure they have the ability and expertise to offer a package of both reliable and advanced equipment, in conjunction with full integration capabilities and fully fledged servicing, provided by Gilbarco Veeder-Root partners, IT Grup and Revicom Oil.

Mr. Hamza Karimov, President of SOCAR, Romania describes the project ahead and the reasoning for partnering with Gilbarco Veeder-Root on this project; "SOCAR Petroleum, the subsidiary in Romania, of SOCAR Group has started a very ambitious project in Romania earlier this year. We are planning to expand our business throughout the country over the next three years. We have signed an agreement with Gilbarco Veeder-Root based on the experience they have in Romania for a bundled, integrated system including POS, dispensers and tank leveling systems. It will be a challenge for both of us to build up a state-of-the-art network in such a short time."

From initial negotiations at the beginning of the year, Gilbarco Veeder-Root have worked to complete almost nine SOCAR stations. With the introduction of Gilbarco Veeder-Root equipment, SOCAR have seen dramatically reduced maintenance costs and increased service station efficiency.
