PKN Orlen is considering the acquisition of OMV’s network of 220 fuel service stations in the Czech Republic, according to Polish daily Dziennik Gazeta. The newspaper, which did not cite its sources, said that Poland’s state-owned oil firm could offer €164m for the network.
OMV has already signalled its intention to exit the Czech market, divesting its fuel retail assets, but has yet to comment on the story. PKN already has a retail presence in the country through control of Unipetrol, which owns over 300 filling stations nationwide. The company did not, however, confirm the report.
