PetroTechnik, the global providers of the UPP underground pipework
system, has unveiled a new electrofusion chamber which is designed to
make installation safer, faster and more efficient than ever before.
Keeping product out of the environment and water out of the
containment system can often be an issue with tank chambers, because
bolted risers and entry boots, plus ill-fitting lids, create potential
leak points. The new chamber effectively solves this problem
because the riser section electrofuses to the base, removing the need
to multiple bolt holes and foam gaskets in this area, dramatically
reducing the number of potential leak paths.
PetroTechnik’s UPP pipe is also electrofusion welded to the chamber,
eliminating the need for bolted entry boots. Installation time is
reduced with the new system. No scraping of the fusion surface is
required because they are packaged with a protective covering. Welding
can be carried out with PetroTechnik’s new EF1 welding unit in around
six minutes. Once welded and cooled, the base and riser become one
homogenous unit, with no mechanical joints and no leak points.
