Poland: Lotos to Start MSA’s Tender

Lotos is to start the tenders process for motorway service stations in
the first half of 2009 and these will incorporate the McDonalds
restaurants.
In the second half of 2009, Grupa Lotos will start the construction of the motorway servcie stations areas. "We are already designing customer service points (CSP) and are about to receive building permits," said Mateusz Cabak from Grupa Lotos.
Construction companies responsible for the stations will be chosen in tenders organised in the first half of 2009. According to Gazeta Prawna, all six CSPs of Lotos's petrol stations will have McDonald's restaurants.
Krzysztof Klapa from McDonald's did not confirm this information but he stated that on 27 December McDonald's restaurant will be opened at Lotos's petrol station in Gniezno. "We hope to this is just a beginning of our co-operation. We are now conducting advanced business talks concerning further openings," he added. So far McDonald's has opened its restaurants at petrol stations of BP, Shell, Statoil, Orlen and Lukoil.
