Italy : San Marco Petroli Buys OMV Italia Srl

OMV will sell its Italian subsidiary OMV Italia S.r.L to
Italy's petroleum wholesaler San Marco Petroli, OMV, without giving the
sale price. As reported by PetrolWorld, OMV announced its
withdrawal from the Italian fuel business last February.
OMV Italia office in Verona has around 20 employees and has been
operating the OMV service station network in Italy since 1991.
The first OMV service station in Italy was opened in Nalles,South
Tirol. In the following years, the service station network was expanded
to a total of 96 stations. In 2008 OMV's market share amounted to
approximately 0.4% of the Italian petrol retail market.
With OMV Italia, San Marco Petroli would
take over a
network of 96 petrol stations in the Triveneto region of
northern Italy. San Marco Petroli was founded in the early 1970'.
Located in Porto Marghera by Venice, the company's activity was
focused on fuel distribution and retail. This has been expanded
to encompass biofuels, fuel storage and the new energy era.
