Atos Origin has announced that it has signed a new five-year
outsourcing contract worth over €25 million with Lekkerland Information
Systems (LIS), the IT provider for the European retailing distribution
company, Lekkerland.
The transition will be completed by 1st November 2009 and 33
Lekkerland employees will transfer to Atos Origin. Under the contract
Atos Origin will take over management of all applications and the
majority of the IT infrastructure to support Lekkerland’s operations
across Europe.
“With the decision to outsource we pursue two objectives“, said Dr.
Thomas Pierlein, General Manager of Lekkerland Information Systems
GmbH. “We want to increase the flexibility of our IT infrastructure and
systems and reduce our IT costs .“
LIS provides the IT services for the complete Lekkerland Group, which
has operations across Europe. The wholesale company Lekkerland supplies
134,000 petrol station shops, kiosks, specialised tobacco shops,
specialised drinks markets, department stores, food markets, fast food
chains, bakeries, canteens and convenience stores with a full range of
tobacco, confectionary, drinks, snacks, fast food, fresh produce,
non-food and telephone cards.
The SAP logistic applications are at the „heart“ of the IT
infrastructure. “We demonstrated our experience in SAP integration and
in the retail industry to win this new outsourcing contract against
strong competition,“ said Winfried Holz, CEO at Atos Origin for
Germany, Central Europe and Africa. The new Atos Origin employees
will continue to work at LIS in Cologne.
