Pan-European retailer Deutsche Tamoil has identified fuel pricing enhancement opportunities using KSS Fuels’ business diagnostic service. The retailer, which operates over 2,8000 fuel service stations, commissioned a business diagnostic from KSS to identify performance improvement opportunities in its German network. The project has been so successful that Deutsche Tamoil commissioned similar studies to cover other countries.
“We found the diagnostic process to be very informative, and we will be acting on the higher-priority opportunities presented to us. KSS Fuels’ consultants are clearly very knowledgeable and were able to quickly identify areas for improvement and recommend actions for how to deliver on them,” said Deutsche Tamoil Managing Director Carsten Pohl.
KSS’ business diagnostic covers all aspects of the current fuels pricing process, including corporate financial goals, pricing strategy, daily execution from head office to retail site and existing performance monitoring. The process involves meetings between KSS consultants and key personnel across the client organisation, and delivers results ranking the opportunities for improvement and giving an estimate of their impact of profitability where possible. “This relatively new service builds on the more than 15 years’ experience and knowledge our company has acquired in working with many hundreds of customers in 80 countries,” explains Bob Stein, President and CEO of KSS Fuels.
“This experience has allowed us to develop benchmarks for every aspect of the pricing process and use those to help operators identify where they are strong and where improvements can be made. We are delighted to work with Deutsche Tamoil and look forward to building on the positive results in Germany by helping the mother company develop pricing improvement roadmaps in other countries,” he added.
