Following a fall in world oil prices, most Estonian petrol retailers lowered their retail prices last week.
Estonian fuel retailers promise lower fuel price if the price persists on world market. Local media writes that first to cut its petrol prices by 50 cents was Neste. It was followed by most other retailers including Statoil which cut the price of petrol by 60 cents. As a result, a litre of grade 95 petrol now costs EEK 17.7.
Antti Moppel, marketing manager of Olerex, said that prices are slowly coming down since the world oil price has also been falling for some time. Since also the US dollar exchange rate is stabilizing and the demand for oil has fallen, oil companies have found it possible to lower their prices worldwide. “Because of all these factors, Estonians can finally buy diesel fuel for less than EEK 20 a litre and regular petrol for less than EEK 18 a litre,” said Moppel.
