Croatian oil company INA will acquire 42.3% stake in Krajinapetrol,
second largest oil company in Republika Srpska (BiH).
Government of
Republika Srpska decided to sell its stake in Krajinapetrol to INA for
a symbolic price, in order to persuade INA to drop all charges and
reparation requests against Krajinapetrol.
Namely,
Krajinapetrol was established out of one part of INA’s business unit
INA Trgovina, which was located on the territory of Republika Srpska
after former Yugoslavia fell apart. Krajinapetrol took over 14 petrol
stations and two oil warehouses of 4,800 tons capacity in total.
INA
already holds 9.7% stake in Krajinapetrol acquired on the stock
exchange in 2005. If the arrangement with the government of Republika
Srpska would be realized, INA would become a majority owner of
Krajinapetrol.
