The Belarusian State Petrochemical Industry Concern has moved to raise prices on both gasoline and diesel, increasing the cost of the fuels by over 3% and 5% respectively. The cost of 95 octane gasoline increased by 3.08% to 5,360 rubels per liter, 92 octane gasoline rose 3.11% to 4,970 rubels, and diesel fuel rose 5.1% to 5,360 rubels.
The increased prices are intended to improve the performance of Berlarus’s two oil refineries, which have been adversely affected by a recent fall in the exchange rate of the Belarusian rubel. The move is the ninth such fuel price increase to be introduced since the start of the year.
