Kuwait's Minister of Oil and Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmad
Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah described ties between his country and Belgium as
"excellent," referring to the volume of Kuwaiti investments in the
European country.
Speaking to KUNA upon arrival in Brussels last week, Sheikh Ahmad
said the aim of his current tour to Europe would be to inspect the
situation at the subsidiaries of Kuwaiti oil companies, which invest in
petrol stations and refineries there. The tour, which begins in
Belgium, will also see him in Holland and Italy.
The Kuwaiti minister said he would be discussing with the
representatives of these subsidiaries their strategies and ways to
remove any obstacles which they faced to improve their performance.
Commenting on the future of energy security cooperation between the
European Union and Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad noted that Kuwait would be
holding the next presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and
hence would play an important role to support the joint efforts in the
interest of both sides.
