Orgneftekhim,
a subsidiary of Belneftekhim, opened the 24th fuel service station in
Minsk, Belarus. The new green field site was opened by Vladimir Sizov,
Head of the main department for petrochemicals production and sales of
Belneftekhim Concern.
In his opening speech, Vladimir Sizov statedmade a number of key points that reflect the current thinking of Belneftekhim. This included the general statement that the fuel service station network in Balarus will be developed to European Union standards. He also pointed out that it was important to develop and construct the network with customer services including c-stores and ancillary services that suited the locality.
Fuel service station operators in Europe have long been getting income not from fuel sale, but additional services. One can find convenience retail shops and food services at fuel service stations. Other key locations are the development of fuel service stations alongside supermarkets and hypermarkets.
There are curently 722 fuel service stations in Belarus of which about 240 service stations are independent sites. Belneftekhim is the state oil company.
