Azerbaijan State Oil Company Socar Invests in Retail Network

Socar president Rovnag Abdullayev announces development plan to establish service station network in Azerbaijan.
Mr
Abdullayev stated “We carry out in parallel construction of 10 petrol
stations. Three of them will open in the 1st quarter of 2010 and seven
others in the 2nd quarter,” he added. They plan to open a network of 26
service stations.
In the Ukraine, the Company has acquired 20 service stations which are
also set to be in operation during 2010. Last year, Socar
established a service station network of 33 in Georgia. Plans are
to expand this to around 55 by the end of 2010.
Socar oil production in January 2010 grew by 35,990 tons over
January 2009. In 2009 SOCAR produced 9.063 mln tons of oil. In 2009
SOCAR oil production grew by 483,000 tons over 2008.
