Franklin Fueling Systems began as FE Petro in 1988 in McFarland, Wisconsin USA. FE Petro quickly became the global leader in submersible pumping technology, bringing to market innovations such as variable length pumps and MagShell™ technology.
Over time, a growing desire within the company to provide customers with a complete fueling system led to the acquisition of EBW, Inc. and APT, Inc. in 2000. EBW added products to FE Petro’s offering which included underground and aboveground tank trim hardware, spill containers and manholes, suction systems, nozzles and breakaways, tank monitoring systems and tank truck accessories. APT products added single and double wall flexible underground piping, flexible entry boots, fittings and poly containment sumps and fittings.
With hardware products in the fold, the company began looking toward electronic monitoring. In 2002, FE Petro acquired INCON and rounded out its portfolio of service station electronics with an innovative link of tank gauges, electronic line leak detection, environmental monitoring sensors and remote monitoring software.
The combination of FE Petro, EBW, APT and INCON solidified Franklin Fueling Systems as an innovative fueling systems supplier.
To further prepare for present and future ecological containment and monitoring, FFS purchased Phil-Tite Industries in 2005. Phil-Tite provided FFS with single and double wall fiberglass containment sumps, field replaceable and secondary contained spill containers, and the first-ever California Air Resources Board (CARB) EVR system.
Most recently, Franklin Fueling Systems acquired Petrotechnik in 2010 and Healy Systems in 2006.
Franklin now offer a complete system including Stage II vapor recovery products built with field-proven technology. Healy products also include the first EVR Stage II system to be certified by CARB. Continued expansion led Franklin Fueling Systems to relocate its headquarters and primary operations from its original McFarland Wisconsin location to a facility in nearby Madison Wisconsin. Built in 2004, the new state –of-the-art facility was expanded in 2007 to accommodate the company’s continued growth. Franklin Fueling Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Franklin Electric.
