Nearby Stores, owner of 33 convenience stores and 17 ex-Crown Post
Offices which are being converted to larger convenience stores, in
South West England, has announced that it will implement VPoS, an
Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) system from VoiteQ.
The VPoS system has initially been implemented in six stores before being rolled out across the remaining 27 Nisa-Today stores which will take place over the next few months. The implementation comes as the group recognise the need to gain greater visibility and control of the expanding business.
Initially Nearby required central management control of products and consolidated reporting on the business. Up to now Nearby has had limited central systems as the stores operated with a branded EPOS system which was unable to provide adequate central control.
Nearby Stores have made the decision to implement the VoiteQ, CentriQ, Business Management System enabling them to manage the stores from the head office, along with the VPoS point of sale application for the stores.
Also Nearby Stores will be implementing the VoiteQ DataManager system which will allow them to analyse sales on a daily and weekly basis, and to interrogate the receipt archive to identify potential fraud issues.
The fully integrated end-to-end VoiteQ system will provide Nearby with central control of all pricing, promotions and range, as well as giving greater visibility of stock in store and overall stock holding, as well as providing valuable information on the selling patterns of different products and greater control of cash and banking information, all with centralised control.
Craig Wareham, Systems Controller of Nearby Stores Limited comments, “We are confident in our selection of VoiteQ as our solution provider, given their extensive background in retail. Their experience means that they understand the nuances of the retail business and they have developed systems that fulfil those requirements.”
The VoiteQ systems are all of Open database design which enables them to be linked easily to other applications. They all run on any current Windows platform and have intuitive user friendly design. VPoS has a proven track record having been in constant use and under continued development for the last 18 years.
Users are also able to diversify their business without having to purchase add-on modules. Recently VoiteQ have added new functionality which includes the integration of digital CCTV and multimedia customer displays.
Craig concludes, “Nearby Stores believe VoiteQ systems will play a major part in developing Nearby infrastructure both for existing and new stores over the next few years We are certain that the VoiteQ systems will provide us with the IT solutions to continue our growth. We are looking forward to working with VoiteQ over the coming years.”
