LAUGFS Lubricants has held an awards ceremony to honour its distributors and dealers. The event, held at the LAHES auditorium in the World Trade Centre, celebrated a successful 2011 with awards for the company's top performers from the year.
Company Chairman W.K.H Wegapitiya (pictured) said that LAUGFS Lubricants was ambitious for the future. “We are the first Sri Lankan company to enter into the lubricant industry in Sri Lanka and now after completion of three years in the industry, we are now geared to enter into next level of our operations that is to start up our own blending facility in the country,” he announced.
Wegapitiya said that the rapid economic growth of Sri Lanka represented an opportunity for the firm. “Every half an hour there is a new motor bicycle coming onto the street and it is the same with motor vehicles. This mainly is due to the new economic prosperity taking place in the country. We see a great potential in the Sri Lankan economy. In that terms of being the only Sri Lankan company in the lubricant industry we also see a great potential in the industry,” he added.
Representatives of LAUGFS will be attending the forthcoming PetrolWorld APAC Business Forum in Goa, India. This forum, running from February 22 to 24, represents a unique opportunity for executives in the downstream fuel industry to build links and develop opportunities in a relaxed, enjoyable environment.
