Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, the principal Sri Lankan Fuel Entity, has raised fuel retail prices by 10%. Gasoline rises from LKR 133 to LKR 145, while diesel increases from LKR 88 to LKR 96.
The increases come despite Minister of Petroleum Susil Premajayantha’s recent denial that prices would be changed. Indian Oil, which lowered the retail price of diesel in the country, had previously applied for a price increase on petrol, but their request was declined.
