Singapore: Watchdata Obtains CEPAS Compliance

Smart card and contactless technology services provider Watchdata has
achieved compliance with the Singapore Standard for Contactless ePurse
Application (CEPAS), a Singaporean specification for electronic money
smart cards.
The company has also been awarded a contract to supply smart cards
for a nationwide application in Singapore. To date, the company has
issued over ten million multi-application smart cards to various
Singapore card issuers.
In Singapore, the CEPAS standard has come into effect in 2009.
CEPAS-compliant cards can be used to carry out contactless fare
payments on local transport services, as well as other purchases at
vending machine, fast food restaurants and convenience stores.
Watchdata’s offerings include SIMpass, digital signature and
authentication solutions, an embedded security access module as well as
the TimeCOS operating system for cashless payments, e-commerce, health
and social services.
