Shell recently organised a special event party to celebrate the Shell
Cash Contest grand prize winners who each walked away with RM100,000,
simply by filling up a minimum of RM30 petrol at participating Shell
service stations.
Azman Ismail, the new managing director of Shell Malaysia Trading
Sdn Bhd’s, gave recognition to the unwavering support from Malaysian
motorists, especially since the launch of its latest breakthrough fuel.
The new fuel, Shell FuelSave 95 and 97, was introduced in
October. “Shell has a long and proud history of continuously
investing in research and development to ensure that our customers
benefit from the latest in fuel technology,” said Azman. “Our
customers, who fill up with our Shell FuelSave and our recently crowned
1 Litre Challenge champion, know how far one litre of savings every
tankful can take them,” he added.
According to him, Shell has built a reputation for offering exciting
contests to reward its customers and have continuously improved on its
rewards and contests. He said Shell increased both the grand prize
amount and the number of prizes given out in its cash contests every
year since the contests began three years ago.
Azman, who succeeds Datuk Mohzani Abdul Wahab who retired after 33
years with the company, began his career in Shell with Sarawak Shell
Berhad in 1986 as a conceptual design engineer. After 10 years in
various capacities, he joined the corporate and finance sectors of
Shell Malaysia before taking up regional network roles. As the
new managing director, he will lead Shell Malaysia’s downstream
operations as well as the petroleum retail businesses of Malaysia,
Singapore, Hong Kong and Brunei.
According to Azman, the Shell RM100,000 Weekly Cash Contest which has
eight more weeks to go, received an overwhelming amount of entries
during its first six weeks. Each week, Shell will give away
RM100,000 to one lucky grand prize winner, RM10,000 to three first
place winners and a RM100 consolation prize to 1,000 customers. In
addition, all weekly winners get BonusLink points matching the cash
reward figures.
The Shell Cash Contest which began on 30th November 2009 and runs till
7th March 2010, will reward more than 14,000 Shell customers with up to
RM3.22 million in total cash. A series of “Shell FuelSave” road shows
will also be held around Peninsular Malaysia until Feb 14.
