The General Operation Force (GOF) detained seven Thais and seized 180
litres of petrol and 58 litres of diesel worth RM422 at a service
station.
The GOF detained three vehicles, which tried to make their way
across the border to Thailand, in the 8.45am incident, said GOF Ninth
Battalion assistant commanding officer DSP Mohamad Latip. The
tanks of the vehicles were modified to store up to 200 litre of fuel,
he said, adding that, however, one vehicle managed to leave the border
checkpoint undetected. Those arrested, including two women, aged
between 20 and 40, he added. He said the fuel was handed over to
the Kelantan branch of the Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism
Ministry.
