Chevron Malaysia Limited has announced the introduction of Caltex
Diesel with Techron® D, a new improved diesel, which contains the
proprietary Techron®D additive.
Caltex Diesel with Techron®D is proven to control deposits, helps
maintain fuel injector cleanliness and optimum engine
performance. The launch of Caltex Diesel with Techron®D is part
of Chevron’s fuels marketing strategy to offer differentiated, quality
fuel products to motorists. The new EURO2M specifications
compliant Caltex Diesel with Techron®D has been available at all Caltex
service stations nationwide since September 1, 2009 and replaces
Caltex’s previous non-additized diesel offering.
Caltex™ service stations will retail Caltex Diesel with Techron®D at
the same government mandated price as the previous diesel product, even
though it is a new formulation with additional product benefits.
In a diesel engine, keeping the fuel injectors clean is critical as
diesel fuel injectors are prone to deposits clogging. Deposits
can upset the injector spray pattern and hinder the fuel-air mixing
process and this can result in decreased fuel economy, increased
emissions and compromise engine performance. In the very latest
engines, each hole in a fuel injector may be as small as the width of
two human hairs. The potential for negative impact from injector
deposits is increasing as diesel engines become more
sophisticated.
During the course of its development, Chevron tested the performance of
the Techron®D additive in both old and new diesel engines, as well as
in a range of diesel specifications including biodiesel blends, and it
has proven to work well with all.
This ensures that the new Caltex Diesel with Techron®D is suitable for
all diesel vehicles and meets Malaysia’s diesel quality standards as
well as Chevron’s strict quality standards for all Caltex fuels.
All Caltex™ petrol and diesel offerings across its nationwide network
of more than 420 service stations are EURO2M specifications compliant
since September 1, 2009.
