A new association of operators in Kazakhstan’s fuel and lubricant market has been formed. The organisation, founded by 16 independent firms, registered with the country’s Justice Ministry as Kazakh Fuel Association 1.
The formation of the group was initially announced at a press conference in July 2011. Kazakh Fuel Association aims to protect the interests of market participants, achieve an effective partnership with the state agencies monitoring production and sale of oil products, and feeding into the legislative and regulatory process.
Membership of the association is open to any owner of a fuel service station, whether a single entrepreneur or a legal company. There are no restrictions on the number of stations a prospective member must operate to join.
