Pertamina will go public without an initial public offering, according to TEMPO Interactive. The state owned oil and gas firm will become a non-listed company at the stock exchange, the website reported, citing spokesman Mochamad Harun.
TEMPO Interactive quoted Mr Harun as saying that the company had no interest going through the IPO system, explaining that it had been charged with managing natural resources, and that offering shares to the public would mean only shareholders benefited from those resources. Should an IPO occur, the website noted, shareholders could come from all areas of society, including foreigners.
