Bharat Petroleum Corporation has introduced a system of organisation that allows the company to monitor and maintain fuel quality standards. This monitoring takes place from the time the fuel leaves the bulk storage facility right through to the customer filling their motor vehicle. The new operation will minimise the possibility of fuel adulteration as well as maintain confidence for consumers.
“With this automation, any adulteration in diesel and motor spirit are
reasonably ruled out,” BPCL’s northern region general manager S K
Mathur stated. The automation covers all activities at the retail level
from the moment a dealer receives the product from company tanks till
it is delivered to the consumer.
Mathur said that BPCL is now working on
linking its vehicle tracking system that keeps an eye on tanks that
transport fuel from company installations to the retailers so that the
possibility of adulteration in fuel is entirely ruled out. Now, any
deviation from stand operating practices at the retailer level are
reported instantly to BPCL officers, who could take appropriate action.
