India: Bharat Powers Processing Output Rise for December

Bharat Petroleum led India's refiners in ramping up crude processing in December, marking the eleventh month in which refining activity increased nationwide during 2011. 14.8m metric tons of crude was processed into fuel products during the month, according to the Oil Ministry, a 0.8% increase on the same period in 2010.
Among the biggest refiners, Essar Oil processed 1.3m tons, a 01% increase on last year, but processing by Bharat Petroleum rose by 34% to 2.1m tons. Indian Oil Corporation refined 4.9m tons, down 0.4%. Reliance also cut production by 4.2% to 2.9m tons, according to the ministry.
