French Polynesia is being hit by fuel shortages as a strike at some supply companies is taking effect.
Some petrol stations have now run out of petrol while a fuel supply
ship is off Tahiti awaiting an opportunity to offload its cargo.
It is not clear how long the ship can wait as it has other ports to
supply. A statement by the union says the action has been taken because
earlier undertakings have not been honoured.
