Fuel imports from Russia to China reached their highest levels in over a year during November, according to data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs. The country imported 635,086 mt of fuel oil from Russia over the much, 114.7% higher than the same period last year, and the highest since it imported 699,595 mt in June of 2010.
Independent oil refiners seeking to replenish their inventories accounted for the spike. Private operators anticipate a hike in local retail prices for both gasoline and diesel following a long period of rising crude prices.
