China: PetroChina Service Stations Resume Operation in Quake Area

PetroChina has said that 98% of its service stations in the
disaster-hit areas had resumed normal operation as at the end of May. 30,
sources reported.
The number of closed service stations has been reduced to 63 in the
region of Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu Province and Chongqing City. All
staff members at the 8 stations in Mianyang City were evacuated in
accordance with the flood discharge plan against the threatening
upriver lakes as a result of the earthquake.
There were 3,488 gas stations under operation in the region before
the earthquake, while part of them was damaged during the quake. After
3 weeks of repairs, 357 had resumed operation, including all the
139 stations in Shaanxi Province.
