IBISWorld has forecast an annualised growth rate of 7.9% for the fuel retail industry in China over the next five years. The industry researcher has said that more cars on the road, pricing reform, competition and the development of non-fuel business will sustain growth, albeit not at the same 16.4% rate experienced over the last five years. Growth from 2010 to 2011 already slowed down to 13.5%, the company added.
IBISWorld expects both private enterprises and global competitors to make greater inroads into the market, which remains dominated by the state-owned, vertically integrated China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) and China National Petroleum Corporation. To view the report, click here .
